Teach your students how to make their own stop-motion brickfilm while introducing/reinforcing essential Language Arts and STEM skills! Focusing on story building fundamentals (character building, plot concepts and more) and using cameras, animation software, and video editing software, they will bring LEGOs to life creating multi-scene movies with transitions, titles, credits, sound effects, and narration. Students can receive a link to all the class creations at the end of the course.

Brainy Bytes curriculum follows the newest generation of ISTE, (International Society for Technology and Education), standards for students. Each of our curricula will expose students to technology and at least one other curriculum topic area (i.e., Science, Language Arts).
The following ISTE standards can be found throughout Brainy Bytes curriculum:
1C – Students use technology to seek feedback that informs and improves their practice and to demonstrate their learning in a variety of ways.

Movie Making is taught on MonkeyJam and Video Pad.
MonkeyJam is a digital penciltest and stopmotion animation program. It is designed to let you capture images from a webcam, camcorder, or scanner and assemble them as separate frames of an animation.
VideoPad is utilized in this course for teaching editing, visual effects and audio. It is a fully-featured video editor for creating professional quality videos in minutes. VideoPad is a for-purchase resource. We recommend using their home edition which will provide all the tools you need and is offered at a very reasonable price. Click here to find out about their multi-user packages. If you prefer another editing software, other resources/platforms can be used with minimal adjustments to the teaching.
